FF Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles Out Now

The legendary Tactical RPG Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles was released today on September, 2025 for Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox Series X. This is a remake of the original timeless classic "Final Fantasy Tactics" originally released in 1997 for the Playstation 1, brought forward for modern consoles. The exciting content of this remake is it brings fully fledged voice acting in English and Japanese for all audiences, gameplay tweaks, updated visuals including the option to play the game in the original artstyle and UI with multiple original staff returning to rework on the project again, such as Yasumi Matsuno himself.

Square Enix underwent a lot of effort to bring forth this remake as the original source code for the game was lost, so they had to develop this remake by assembling the pieces from playing the original game and its multiple versions whilst achieving faithfulness to the initial version.

On X back in the 4th June 2025 developers Kazutoyo Maehiro, Hiroshi Minagawa and Yasumi Matsuno gave a detailed message regarding the game expressing their excitement to reshare this classic once again for modern audiences. Numerous enhancements were made, such as having new conversations in-game being written for this remake, providing new content to look forward to. For this timeless classic to be reintroduced, as via Matsuno's message "And now, in 2025 – a time when inequality and division are still deeply rooted in our society – I offer this story once again."
